I came across a lovely story in the news yesterday about a cleaner at Bristol University having the chance to visit his family in Jamaica ‘for the first time in a decade’ thanks to the kindness of Bristol University students. A student anonymously posted he was going to create a crowd funding page for Herman and the target money for the trip was reached within a week. This all began because of a post on a Facebook page where a post praised Herman for always being cheerful and nice to everyone. This sparked the suggestion about a crowd funding page, so he could visit his family.
Herman was understandably moved to tears when he was given his money from Bristol university students. “When you see things like this you know that somebody loves you.” Herman and his wife had a wonderful holiday in Jamaica, where they stayed in a luxurious five-star resort. They were both very thankful to the students for their generosity.
What a beautiful story about a group of thoughtful students coming together to make a difference.
