On Tuesday 21st May ReallySchool attended the super Sonic Phonics event held at Dogsthorpe Infant School. We wanted to sponsor this event as we feel it’s really important for schools to have the opportunity to host great CPD sessions like this.

The event

Around 12 local EYFS settings and a few local authority members attended the event. They had the opportunity to explore lots of fantastic phonics-based activities that they could use to help children in their care be more school ready. If children have some of these phonic skills early on it really supports their transition into school, and gives them a head start when it comes to reading and writing. Dedicated Dogsthopre staff took time out of their busy schedules to model these activities and answer questions. The attendees received free goodie bags and took part in a free raffle.

Here are some photos of just a few of the activities:

The feedback

Feedback was excellent. The early years settings really embraced the activities and looked forward to implementing them. ReallySchool also received positive feedback! Attendees liked how it could save them lots of time by reducing unnecessary paperwork. All in all, it was a very successful event that we were happy to be part of!

If you are planning any CPD events or teach meets and would like sponsorship, fill out the ‘find out more’ form on our home page and we’d be happy to help.
