Season’s Greetings!
It’s the 18th December! Can you believe it? This year seems to have both flown by and dragged on simultaneously!
There have been many challenges this year for all of us. Many will be more than ready to say goodbye to this year and look towards 2021. It’s good to look forward but I also wanted to take some time to reflect on 2020. Despite 2020 being a year of uncertainty, change and worry, there has been some real positives. For example, I have been amazed by how well the ReallySchool team and the wider NetSupport team have responded to these challenges. Everyone has supported each other and gone the extra mile and it’s been wonderful to see. We’ve even managed to do some fundraising for Macmillan, Wear it Pink, Crisis and Wood Green The Animals Charity. We’ve also had great fun spreading some Christmas cheer amongst the team by sharing festive photos, such as tinsel covered home offices and dogs in Christmas jumpers.
2020 for ReallySchool
ReallySchool has had some fantastic new features put in place that supported schools during lockdown and beyond. With teachers able to share home learning activities, bubbles and individual pupils that are isolating won’t have to miss out. Schools can give guidance and feedback to parents and their children. When a parent shares evidence of home learning, a teacher can apply assessments so they can clearly see where the learning gaps are, ready to address them when pupils return to school. They can even celebrate the child’s efforts by awarding them badges. Learn more about What’s new.
One of the highlights for ReallySchool this year was our online sharing practice event. This was an opportunity for our schools to network, share tips and ideas, and provide feedback. It was so wonderful to hear their valuable insights and it was incredibly rewarding knowing that they found ReallySchool was having such a positive impact in their schools. We were also delighted to take part in online events such as the Check It Out! show.
Welcome Hootie and friends
This year we are pleased to now have our very own fabulous mascot…Hootie! Hootie along with Blu and Fuzz for Team Classroom.cloud are here to spread joy to teachers, students, and even our own team! You will be able to find Hootie on our website, social media and even in our new video we have been working on! Our fuzzy friends have been a real hit, and I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of them in 2021.
What’s next?
As we come to the end of the year, I really look forward to what is in store for ReallySchool next year! We’ve had discussions with all our schools to ensure we can provide them with the best support going forward and we will continue to respond to new challenges as they come. I’m particularly excited about some developments for pupils but for now I will have to keep that one quiet! We will really miss attending events such as Bett, but we are looking forward to finding new opportunities to meet new people and discover new ideas.
The ReallySchool team would all like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you to everyone who supported us this year. Thank you to our schools for all their continued hard work for their pupils. We are excited to continue to work with you all in 2021!
