Season’s Greetings!
As we are amidst the festive season (and freezing cold weather), we also approach the end of 2022 – blink and you’ll miss it!
With that in mind, I wanted to summarise a few of our many highlights over the year.
Bett Show 2022
It was wonderful to have, for the first time in so long, a big in-person event. There have been and continue to be many great online events but it was nice to really experience that human connection. As always, the Bett Show was a brilliant opportunity to explore, network and learn. There were lots of fun moments on the NetSupport stand, such as our silent disco with now>press>play. It was also great to share our space with the ANME, i-vengers, i-3 Technologies, Pobble and Deliver Computing 360! Check out our show highlights here.
Awards
ReallySchool was shortlisted in the Go:Tech Awards, Education Resources Awards (ERA) and Teach Primary Awards. In the Go:Tech Awards 2022 we were a finalist in the ‘Best Mobile Technology Award’ category, in the ERA Awards 2022 we were a finalist in the ‘Primary resource of equipment: Tools for leadership, management and assessment’ category, and in the Teach Primary Awards 2022, we were a finalist in the ‘App’ category.
We are always so grateful for the recognition! Check out NetSupport’s full awards list here.
R.I.S.E. Magazine
We published four more issues of R.I.S.E. Magazine this year – and we have loved them all! We now have an enormous collective of R.I.S.E. contributors bringing diverse voices from across the education sector to the platform. Our latest issue covered (as always) a wide range of topics, but common themes were: inclusion and belonging, mathematics, online safety and nurture. Plus of course, the regular favourites such as recommended reads and my personal favourite, Pets’ Corner!
If you subscribe free, you can read all these issues and get next year’s ones as soon as they are published!
Of Primary Importance Podcast
We shared 14 episodes of our podcast covering all things early years and primary, with a wealth of special guests sharing topics they are really passionate about. In our latest episode (20), I spoke with Georgina Durrant about common barriers in reading and writing and how we can overcome these, as well as the importance of play and how it can be used to boost reading and writing. I also talked to her about her new book, ‘How To Boost Reading and Writing Through Play.’
Head here for the full playlist of all our episodes (including episode 20).
That’s a wrap on 2022! What were your highlights and what will 2023 have in store?
Happy Holidays from Kat and the ReallySchool team
