Add notes and media
This is a quick guide for how to add notes, videos, audio clips and photos on ReallySchool.
Group note
This note is for the whole group and can be seen by parents if the observation is posted. However, parents cannot see group videos, photos or audio clips unless a teacher chooses to enable this.
Individual note
This note can be seen by school staff assigned to the class the student is in, including photos, videos and audio clips. Parents can only see individual notes for the children they are assigned to.
Text notes
To add a group note, select the text box and type in your note.
To add individual notes, tap the icon of the student you wish to create a note for and, as with a group note, use the text box to type this.
You can also use the group note preview button to review the group note, as you can with individual notes.

Four videos can be added per group or student note, with a maximum of 10 per observation. Videos can be up to 3 minutes in length.
To record a video, press the large + evidence button on either the group or an individual student’s note, then select the video icon.
Select the recording button to start and stop the video. You can choose to retake or use the video and you can play back the video at any time. You can use the skip buttons to skip ten seconds forwards or backwards.
Additionally, you can upload videos from your camera roll by selecting the + evidence button, then selecting the folder icon and choosing a video from your library.
You can add a caption to a video by selecting a video then selecting Add caption.
Please note, the first time you choose to add media to an observation, you will be prompted to give permission for ReallySchool to access your camera (necessary for photos and videos) and microphone (necessary for videos and audio notes).

To take a photo, press the large + evidence button and the camera icon. Take your photo and then choose to use it or retake another one.
