Add notes and media
This is a quick guide for how to add notes, videos, audio clips and photos on ReallySchool.
This note is for the whole group and can be seen by parents if the observation is posted. However, parents cannot see group videos, photos or audio clips unless a teacher chooses to enable this.
This note can be seen by school staff assigned to the class the student is in, including photos, videos and audio clips. Parents can only see individual notes for the children they are assigned to.
To add a group note, select the text box and type in your note.
To add individual notes, tap the icon of the student you wish to create a note for and, as with a group note, use the text box to type this.
You can also use the group note preview button to review the group note, as you can with individual notes.
Four videos can be added per group or student note, with a maximum of 10 per observation. Videos can be up to 3 minutes in length.
To record a video, press the large + evidence button on either the group or an individual student’s note, then select the video icon.
Select the recording button to start and stop the video. You can choose to retake or use the video and you can play back the video at any time. You can use the skip buttons to skip ten seconds forwards or backwards.
Additionally, you can upload videos from your camera roll by selecting the + evidence button, then selecting the folder icon and choosing a video from your library.
You can add a caption to a video by selecting a video then selecting Add caption.
Please note, the first time you choose to add media to an observation, you will be prompted to give permission for ReallySchool to access your camera (necessary for photos and videos) and microphone (necessary for videos and audio notes).
Four photos can be added per group and per student with a maximum of 10 photos per observation.
To take a photo, press the large + evidence button and the camera icon. Take your photo and then choose to use it or retake another one.

You can add a caption to a video by selecting a photo then selecting Add caption.
Four audio clips can be added per group and per student with a maximum of 10 audio clips in an observation. Audio clips can be up to 3 minutes in length.
To record an audio clip, press the large + evidence button on either the group or an individual student’s note, then select the audio icon.

Sharing group evidence
You can choose to share group evidence by selecting the sharing icon in the corner of the photo, video or audio clip you want to share. You can switch off sharing in the same way. Additionally, once an observation is added to the timeline, you can select Publish group attachments or Stop publishing group attachments from the observation menu.
You can remove media by selecting the minus icon in the corner of the attachment. If you want to edit media after your observation has been completed, you can select the menu icon on the timeline, then press Edit. You will then be able to add/remove your media.
